DoughOps Payments

A POS that lets each bakery sell under its own brand.

Every other POS was designed to process payments and stop there. DoughOps Payments knows what the bakery baked this morning, tracks what's left to sell, and lets that bakery offer its own branded loyalty, gift cards, coupons, custom order deposits, and crew clock-in from the same platform used to plan production.

What most bakeries are piecing together

A separate loyalty app

Most leading POS platforms sell loyalty as a paid add-on. DoughOps Payments lets each bakery run its own stamps-based or points-based loyalty program without sending customers to a separate app.

A separate gift card program

Physical or digital gift cards through typical POS systems require additional setup, ordering, and sometimes per-card fees. DoughOps Payments lets each bakery issue branded digital gift cards directly from the register.

A separate scheduling app

Crew scheduling tools like 7shifts or HotSchedules charge per employee per month. DoughOps includes weekly crew scheduling, and published schedules flow automatically into station assignments and the time clock.

The register that knows what you baked

Production-aware product grid

Every product on the register shows today's planned quantity and how many are left to sell — updated live as transactions complete. When you run low on glazed donuts, the register shows it. Your crew knows to push alternatives before you run out, not after a customer is already disappointed.

Products tailored to your shop

Your register is built from your DoughOps product catalog — categories, variants, modifiers, and pricing are already there. No re-entering your menu. Modifier groups (sizes, add-ons, customizations) with required and optional selections keep orders accurate without slowing the line.

Works on iPad with BYOD hardware

DoughOps Payments runs on any iPad. Pair it with a Stripe Reader M2 (~$59) for tap-to-pay and chip cards. Add a Bluetooth barcode scanner for packaged goods. Connect a network receipt printer if you need printed receipts. No proprietary hardware bundles, no lease requirements.

Kiosk mode for front-of-house

Lock the register into kiosk mode for tablets at the counter. Staff authenticate with a 6-digit PIN — no shared logins. Manager-level actions like refunds, voids, and discounts require a manager PIN, keeping the register secure without slowing down regular transactions.

Branded gift cards, loyalty, and coupons - included, not added on

Branded gift cards from the register

Let each bakery issue its own branded gift cards directly from the iPad in seconds. Customers receive a digital card via email with a QR code, ready to scan on their next visit. Partial redemptions, reloads, balance checks, transfers, and liability reporting are handled natively.

Loyalty that fits how bakeries work

Each bakery can choose stamps mode or points mode. Customers look up their balance by phone number - no app download required. Loyalty tiers, bonus days, birthday rewards, and win-back campaigns help bakeries turn regulars into repeat revenue.

Card fingerprint recognition

When a regular pays by card, DoughOps can link the transaction to their loyalty account automatically using Stripe's card fingerprint, even if they forgot to give their phone number. Only the fingerprint hash is stored, never card numbers.

Store credit from refunds

When a refund doesn't warrant cash back, issue store credit with one tap. Store credit balances are tracked per customer and redeemable at the register like a gift card. Keeps the transaction clean, keeps the customer happy, and keeps the money in your shop.

Coupons and promotions

Create bakery-specific offers for slow days, seasonal launches, birthday rewards, lapsed customers, dozen-box promos, or wholesale outreach. Redemptions stay tied to that bakery's customers and sales, so promos are measurable instead of guesswork.

Custom order deposits

Collect deposits and final balances for custom cakes and specialty orders. Pickup teams can see what is paid, what is due, and whether the order is ready before they complete fulfillment.

Crew time clock and scheduling — one system, no exports

PIN clock-in from the register

Crew members clock in and out from the same iPad using their PIN — no separate time clock device needed. Break tracking, auto-close for forgotten punches, and FLSA overtime calculations are built in. Payroll exports to QuickBooks, Gusto, ADP, or generic CSV so hours flow straight to payroll without manual transcription.

Weekly scheduling that feeds the clock

Managers build the weekly schedule in DoughOps, assign crew to stations and shifts, and publish with one click. When crew arrive and clock in, their scheduled shift is already there — they clock in against it rather than a blank punch. Scheduled vs. actual variance reports show who's running over hours before it becomes a payroll problem.

Tip allocation built in

Distribute tips by individual, even split, hours worked, or role — whichever matches your policy. Tip pooling is supported with the required owner opt-in and DOL disclosure acknowledgment. Every tip distribution is logged for payroll and compliance, with no extra software required.

Scheduling publishes to station assignments

When you publish the weekly schedule, DoughOps automatically creates production station assignments for each day. The morning crew board shows who is working the fryer, oven, decorator, and packaging stations — no re-entering the schedule in a different view.

Payments infrastructure you can trust

Powered by Stripe

Every payment is processed by Stripe — the same infrastructure used by millions of businesses worldwide. Your customers' card data never touches DoughOps servers. Stripe handles encryption, fraud detection, and PCI DSS compliance so you don't have to think about it. DoughOps receives application fee income; your revenue settles directly to your bank account.

Multi-jurisdiction sales tax

Set state, county, city, and district tax rates per location. Assign the right tax category to each product — prepared food, grocery, beverage, non-food, or tax-exempt. The register calculates the correct tax on every transaction automatically, and the daily Z-report breaks tax collected down by jurisdiction for easy filing.

Offline cash mode

If the internet goes down, cash transactions queue locally and sync automatically when connectivity returns. Every offline transaction is cryptographically signed so nothing can be altered after the fact. The register keeps working — your shop keeps selling.

Full audit trail

Every register action — sale, refund, void, discount, price override, tip adjustment, drawer open — is logged with staff identity, timestamp, and reason. Manager actions require manager authorization. The audit log is immutable and retained for seven years to satisfy IRS and legal requirements.

Simple, affordable hardware

No proprietary bundles. No leases. Use what you already have where possible.
